In today’s competitive Real Estate Industry, there are still some sellers that choose the first Realtor that comes to mind, but it is much wiser to interview at least 3. I have come up with some common questions that I run across that may help you decide who is going to market your most valuable possession.
1. How many Homes have you sold in my neighborhood?
2. How many years have you been in Real Estate? (Is Real Estate a Career or are you a part-time agent?)
3. Ask for general statistics for your area. (Example: “List to Sold Percentage”, “Days on Market”, “Average Sold Price”, etc…
4. How do you advertise on the Internet? (80-85% of the buyers go to the Internet before contacting a Realtor)
5. How many prospects do you have in your database? ( All Great Realtors are up on today’s technology, and one of the first things they do is blast out there listings to possible buyers)
6. Do you mail brochures of my home to other agents?
7. How often do you update your sellers? When and how do you follow up with showings?
8. Do you have an assistant to help you with day-to-day operations? Who takes your calls when you are on an appointment?
9. Do you mail/email brochures of my home to other agents?
10. Do you mail information of my home to my neighbors?
11. If I list my home with you, how long will it take to implement your marketing strategy?
These questions have changed from the traditional questions that you would ask a Real Estate Professional, because the way we do business has changed in a major way. With the presence of the Internet, buyer’s looking for Myrtle Beach Real Estate start their search on the Internet. Traditional methods of print media and the local newspaper seem to be expensive methods with little effect when it comes to market exposure for a property. The real estate industry continues to become more competitive which in turn offers the real estate consumers better services, and better access to information. The Internet is that piece of exposure that most Realtors are fighting for. It is a relatively inexpensive method of advertising financially, but can be very time consuming to say the least. I strongly recommend anyone that is considering a Realtor to market their property; consider someone that has put together not only a website, but an e-marketing strategy. This method takes time and proves dedication to get your property Sold!
