The Meadows is a new home community located off Highway 707 in the Socastee area of Myrtle Beach. This community is small in size and was developed right after the crash in the real estate market of 2006. Therefore, not many homes were built and sold until now because of the land costs involved. DR Horton purchased the land at a discounted priced and are currently building out this community. Within The Meadows, DR Horton is building many of their popular floor plans that can be found in other communities like Woodbury and Summerall Oaks. Homes range in size from around 1200 to over 2000 heated square feet.
The Meadows does not offer amenities like many of DR Horton’s larger communities offer. However, the neighborhood is convenient for traveling to the beach or many of Myrtle Beach’s attractions. Children that live within this community attend Burgess Elementary, St. James Middle and St. James High Schools.
