North Myrtle Beach is still known for the Shag Dance that started back in the 1930s. The Myrtle Beach area also remains the golf capital of the world with over 110 well known golf courses. Incorporated in 1938 Myrtle Beach today has become a haven for tourists, golfers, families, snowbirds, and 2nd home owners. Its name comes from the wax myrtle, a shrub that grows abundantly in the area. Myrtle Beach has become so well know, it is commonly used to describe the whole “Grand Strand” that stretches from Georgetown, South Carolina to Calabash, North Carolina. According to the 2000 Census, the city is at the heart of the 13th fastest growing metropolitan area in the U.S. The metropolitan population is counted at 196,629 in 2000. Combining all three counties (Horry, Georgetown, and Brunswick, North Carolina), the metro population is 346,548.Of course, the Atlantic Ocean is the number one attraction and the #1 reason so many families visit Myrtle Beach year after year. Our clean, wide beaches are extremely inviting. Myrtle Beach also offers a wealth of recreation, entertainment, dining, shopping and vacation opportunities for visitors and tourists. For this reason, the Myrtle Beach Area attracts over 14 million visitors a year. Myrtle Beach kicks off its summer season each year with the Sun Fun Festival at the beginning of June.
The Village at Queens Harbour is a new condo community just West of 
Azalea Place is a small circle of homes just west of the Intracoastal Waterway off of Claypond Drive close to Highway 501, and Arrowhead Country Club. These homes situated nicely on Williamson Circle are small single family ranch style homes mostly with two car garages. Some of the homes have detached two car garages separated from the house by a private courtyard. The homes range in size from about 1100 square feet to nearly 1700 square feet in size. The HOA 
Ashley Cove is a small community of single family homes located within the Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Club. The neighborhood is off of Bay Road in the Burgess section of Myrtle Beach just West of Surfside Beach. Ashley Cove is comprised of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom “Ranch Style” homes measuring from nearly 1200 heated square feet to over 2300 square feet in size. Most, if not all, of the homes have two car garages and many builder upgrades. Most of the homes in the community were constructed between the years 1998 and 
Arrowhead is a large single family home community located between Claypond and Burcale Roads just west of the Intracoastal Waterway, and close to the new “Freestyle Music Park”. The community, developed by DR Horton, offers a resort like lifestyle not far from everything Myrtle Beach has to offer. Golf is not the only thing nice about this community. The residents can enjoy the very large pool, tennis courts and playground area for the children. Several of the homes enjoy great views of the golf course or views of one of the 
Amberfield is a small Manufacture and Modular Home community just west of Forestbrook Road off the old Highway 544. This community has some of the nicest Manufactured homes in the Myrtle Beach area, and there is a minimal POA (Property Owner’s Association) fee for living in the community. This fee helps to keep the community looking nice, and keep the neighborhood swimming area nice. The neighborhood has hardtop streets with curbs, and paved driveways for each home. The homes must rest on brick 
Camelot is a community of single family homes within the gated community of Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Club. This community offers a lot in the way of amenities for the homeowner. This is a golf course community that offers security and much more. You home owner’s fees allows you the right to use the pool, tennis courts and clubhouse facilities. Also, with the minimal homeowner’s fee trash pickup is included as well your front and side lawn is maintained. 
Arrowhead Pointe is a condo complex located close to the very popular Arrowhead Golf Course. This community is located of Burcale Road in Myrtle Beach just past McKormick Road, and close to everything Myrtle Beach has to offer. The buildings of Arrowhead Point are two stories in height, and only three bedroom condominiums are offered. These units are around 1150 heated square 
St. Charles Place is also known as St. Charles Circle, because that is the only street within this small subdivision. This single family home community was built within the Stonebridge community, and consists of small ranch style homes with one and two car garages for the most part. St. Charles Place is centrally located near the back gate of the old Myrtle Beach Air Force 
Rosewood Estates is a single family neighborhood in the heart of the Socastee area of Myrtle Beach. Close to Socastee High School and the Intracoastal Waterway, Rosewood Estates is in a great location. Most of the homes of this neighborhood are older ranch style homes on nearly ¼ 
Cypress River is a gated Intracoastal Waterway community just West of Surfside Beach off of Bay Road. This is a custom home neighborhood with many home sites to choose from. There are many nice features about Cypress River Plantation that place it high on many home buyers’ lists. There is 24hour a day security, the location is hard to beat within 6 miles of the ocean at Surfside 
Brighton Woods is just West of Surfside Beach in the Burgess Community off of Highway 707, and close to Holmestown Road. This community originally constructed by Lennar offers 5 floor plans from nearly 1750 square feet to 2150 square. All of the homes have two car garages, and many upgrades that are builder standard. Lennar is a builder that doesn’t offer options, but includes the 
Hammerstone Landing is a community of single family homes off of McCormick Road just West of the Intracoastal Waterway. Location of this community is central, and the prices for the homes remain competitively priced to any neighborhoods in the Myrtle Beach Area. The community does not offer neighborhood amenity nor does it have a home owner’s association fee. The appealing aspect of this 
Laurel Woods is a community just West of Surfside Beach off of Highway 707 in the Burgess Community. The neighborhood was traditionally developed to be a Manufactured home Park, but rapidly changed with the Real Estate boom of 2004-2006.
