Deerfield Plantation has seen a lot of changes in the recent years. With the closing of the community golf course, the community has seen some changes, yet numerous properties continue to sell. Deerfield is a community offering a great location, as the community is so large that it has entrances from both Highway 17 Business and Highway 17 Bypass. Residents closer to the Highway 17 Business side of the community find themselves just a short distance from the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. In fact, residents of Deerfield Plantation are only one mile from the beach down 13th Avenue North in Surfside Beach. Residents of the east side of Deerfield are also close to numerous restaurants, an area water park, and great family entertainment options. Residents of the west side of Deerfield are a little further from the beach, but they are extremely close to several newly built restaurants along Highway 17 Bypass. This area appears to be a popular one for new growth, and offers numerous accommodations just a short drive away.
The Deerfield Plantation community is comprised of both single family homes, as well as condos. There are numerous sections of Deerfield Plantation located within the community, and though the golf course was recently closed, the views are still extremely scenic. Many of the homes within the Deerfield community are older homes, 20 or more years in age, though there are a few more recently built homes within the community. Often times, buyers will find that purchasing an older home affords the homeowner with a larger lot size and a little more character in the architecture of the home. Because the community is quite expansive, there are normally approximately 10 or more homes for sale at any given time. This is an attractive feature for interested buyers, as they will have more options when choosing the home that best fits their needs. Average home price within the community continues to be around the $200,000 price point, and is quite reasonable given the great location and ease of access to area attractions.
