Today, the fastest growing section of the Myrtle Beach Real Estate market is the Carolina Forest area located off of Highway 501. Carolina Forest Real Estate refers to a nearly 12,000 acre land tract that is pre-planned, and provides a fixed 20 year development plan, which has been pre-approved by Horry County. For the first time in Horry County history a huge tract of land has been developed in an orderly, structured manner. Development the land in this way assures that necessary infrastructure and public services are prepared for in advance. Carolina Forest residents will know in advance where commercial growth will take place, where parks, schools, fire departments, churches and offices will be located.

The heart of Carolina Forest will be the 40+ residential neighborhoods containing various styles and price ranges when development is complete. Roadways are ever changing in the Carolina Forest area, which currently has over eleven miles of paved hardtop. Estimates suggest that in the end, Carolina Forest may provide 26,000 homes, for a total population of 56,000 people. Four elementary, two middle and two high schools are expected in the area by the end of development.

Near the intersection of River Oaks Drive and Carolina Forest Boulevard is the new “Town Center@Carolina Forest” which is the primary location for small restaurants and quaint shops. The Carolina Forest area has become easier to access from the beach with the new International Drive Bridge that crosses over the Intracoastal to Robert Grissom Parkway. It is a convenient route which takes you through Carolina Forest and then past River Oaks and the World Tour Golf Course. The new “Freestyle Music Park” is located just on the other side of Highway 501 from River Oaks Drive.
